On your marks: sign up for the LCP10k in Kingswinsford29/03/2019
Runners are being urged to sign up for the biggest midweek 10k race in the country, which takes place in the Black Country in May.
The LCP 10k race, organised and managed by Dudley and Kingswinford Running Club, is being sponsored for the fourth consecutive year by national commercial property and investment company LCP, which is based in Pensnett.
The BARR Gold Standard race takes place on Wednesday, May 1, with the start and finish lines at Dudley Kingswinford Running Club.
The race attracts approximately 1000 runners and hundreds have already secured their places for the event, which was launched in 1986 by Dr Dick Blackburn, former chairman and founder of the running club.
Anneka Lowe, marketing and PR manager at LCP, which will field 25 runners into the race, said: “We’re only too pleased to be the headline sponsor of this event on our doorstep once again. It’s not only a fantastic race, which is always well supported, it is also well organised and marshalled.”
It starts at 7.15pm and takes in a certified measured course that includes quiet, undulating country roads that are 99% traffic free. Everyone who completes the course will get a technical T-shirt and medal, while there are also prizes across a range of categories, plus free race photographs.
