The Arcadian ready for this weekend’s Chinese new year celebrations07/02/2019
The Arcadian, Birmingham’s premium leisure destination, is gearing up for this year’s amazing Chinese new year celebrations.
The free, annual festivities, which take place around Chinatown and in the centre, are a highlight of our social calendar and this year is no exception.
The city centre will be hosting celebrations to welcome the Year of the Pig from tomorrow (Friday, February 8) until Sunday, February 10, with the Arcadian playing its part on the Sunday.
We’ll be hosting the second stage, which will have dedicated dragon and lion dance performances every half hour from 12.30-3.30pm, as well as karaoke, as well as a range of food stalls.
Jo Kinsella, centre manager, said: “We always look forward to the Chinese new year celebrations, which are the perfect family day out. There’s always lots of entertainment here and nearby, so we hope to see as many people as possible coming to The Arcadian to enjoy the food and traditional dragon and lion dance performances.”
