Scrum To Meet Wales Rugby Star At Prime Point
Former Wales and British Lions rugby international Gareth Thomas entertained commercial property professionals with tales about his life as a top sportsman when he launched a multi-million pound industrial development in the Black Country.
More than 60 people from the commercial property sector, as well as local authority members and staff, met Gareth when he opened Prime Point - the 130,000 sq ft speculative development being built by LCP at the flagship Pensnett Estate.
They also had the chance to try out their rugby skills with a kick simulator and a passing skills game, while Gareth, the most capped Wales player with 100 appearances, did a question and answer session and talked to guests.
Andrew Preston, industrial portfolio manager of LCP, said: "We were thrilled to welcome Gareth to Prime Point and it was great to see so many people come down to see the progress we have made with the development."
"Our appointed agents, Bulleys and Lambert Smith Hampton, have been working hard to attract new occupiers and businesses to the area and are talking to a number of interested parties."
The national property and investment company, which owns the estate, completed the first 20,000 sq ft unit - Building A - at Prime Point, three months ahead of schedule and is already fielding interest from possible occupiers.
The adjoining Building B, a 30,000 sq ft unit, has also been built and left as a shell, for incoming tenants to work with LCP to arrange their exact fit out requirements. Both units can be let in multiples of 10,000 sq ft or let as a whole.
Really Useful Products, which manufactures storage boxes for business and home, has already signed a deal to move to a 31,000 sq ft unit on part of Prime Point.
The Pensnett Estate is one of the largest secure business estates in Europe, and home to 160 businesses in over 2.4 million sq ft of commercial property. Three years ago, LCP invested £1.5 million in Progress Point, a speculative development on the estate comprising 21,000 sq ft of high quality warehouse and industrial space.
The Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership (BCLEP) has been supporting LCP with this latest development.
